Good news for the auto industry and Indian economy as all major auto makers in India have reported high sales growth during September’2022 due to festival season and post pandemic revival of demand. Here are some data to see how the auto landscape is changing for the car makers.
Maruti Suzuki reported sale of 1,48,380 vehicles during Sep’22 which is 135% growth over last year same period. It could only manage to sale 63,111 units during Sep’21.
Hyundai Motor India sold 63,201 vehicles in September 2022 while it sold only 45,791 unit sales in Sep’21. Company has seen 38% YoY growth in sales volume.
Mahindra & Mahindra has reported total sales of 64,486 vehicles in Sep’22 as compared to 28,112 units during Sep’21 due to high demand in the market of its newly launched modes of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV).
Honda Cars has also seen growth in sale volume in domestic market. Sep’22 sales was 8,714 units compared to 6,765 units a year before for the same month.
Tata Motors reported 80,633 units sale in domestic market during Sep’22 compared to only 55,988 units in Sep’21. It has registered a growth of 44% during Sep’22 over last year.
Suzuki Motorcycle India reported sales of 86,750 units during Sep’22 which is 27.6% growth over last year same period. During H1FY22-23, the company has seen sales growth of 25.7% compared to same period last year.
TVS Motor which is one of the leading names in two-wheelers segment has sold 361,729 units in Sep’22 compared to 332,511 units in Sep’21. It has grown over 9% YoY.
Hero MotoCorp disclosed selling 519,980 units of motorcycles in Sep’22. While for Hero the sales numbers are better than Aug’22 , on YoY it has seen a nominal decline.
