Banking regulator Reserve Bank of India ends the business restrictions imposed on American Express. In April-2021 RBI has ordered Amex not to onboard new domestic customers from May-2021 onwards and has asked the bank to comply with the storage of payment system data guidelines.
RBI is now satisfied that the bank is now complying with its orders and hence removed the business restrictions.
