Central Government has extended the timeline for eKYC completion of the flagship Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana till May2022.
Earlier the beneficiary farmers were given option of OTP based Aadhaar authentication on the official website of the scheme. However, central government has suspended the OTP based Aadhaar authentication till further notice. Therefore, all eligible farmers will have to mandatorily go for biometric based KYC authentication process at the Common Service Centres (CSCs) or at the local revenue office in their area.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a Government of India Scheme for farmers. This yojana is 100% funded by the central government. PM-KISAN scheme was introduced during December-2018. Scheme aims to provide income support to all landholding farmers and their families in India by providing minimum financial support for purpose of purchasing various agricultural/ agricultural related items and also for their domestic needs. The definition of landholder farmer family for this scheme includes husband-wife-minor kids and they must have cultivable agricultural land as per the state land records. Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, every landholding farmer’s family will be provided Rs. 6,000/-per annum in three instalments (Rs 2,000/- in every four months).
Who is benefited from PM-Kisan?
- Farmers & their families holding cultivable agricultural land as per state land records.
- All farmers of India (scheme applicable to all states/UTs). Both rural & urban farmers included.
Who are excluded form PM-Kisan?
- only individual farmers & not institutional farmland holders.
- tax payers not eligible.
- employees/ex-employees of state/central government/PSUs/government autonomous bodies.
- farmers holding constitutional posts.
- pensioners earning pension of Rs 10,000/- per month
How to register for PM-KISAN?
- Eligible farmers have to go to the local revenue office (patwari’s office) or state government office where PM-KISAN registration is happening.
- In case internet service is available nearby, farmers can register online at the official website of the scheme www.pmkisan.gov.in . However, OTP based authentication is temporarily suspended.
- On the website under tab ‘farmers corner’ where farmers can register, edit details & track payment status. Urban farmers can visit Common Service Centres (CSCs) in their area and register for this scheme. CSC will charge their fees for offering services to the farmer.
