While digital is the new world and most of our financial transactions are online, still knowing the bank holidays in advance can help you plan your business and payments. September-2022 has 13 days bank holidays inclusive of weekend holidays. All these 13 are not applicable to all locations but few are specific to some states/cities. Apart from weekend holidays, there are few more holidays permissible under the Negotiable Instrument Act (as permitted by RBI to the banks) and a few state local holidays are there in some parts of the country. Here are the list of all bank holidays this month :
- 1st September : Banks holiday only at Panaji-Goa for Ganesh Chaturthi.
- 4th September : Bank holiday for Sunday.
- 6th September : Banks holiday only at Ranchi-Jharkhand for Karma Puja.
- 7th September : Bank holiday at all major parts of Kerala for First Onam.
- 8th September : Bank holiday at all major parts of Kerala for Thiruvonam.
- 9th September : Banks will be closed only at Gangtok-Sikkim for Indrajatra.
- 10th September : Bank holiday for second Saturday.
- 11th September : Bank holiday for second Sunday.
- 18th September : Third Sunday bank holiday.
- 21st September : Holiday only for Kerala state for Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
- 24th September : 4th Saturday bank holiday.
- 25th September : 4th Sunday bank holiday.
- 26th September : Bank holiday at Imphal-Manipur for Mera Chaoren Houba of Lainingthou Sanamahi. Also bank holiday at Jaipur-Rajasthan on the occasion of for Navratri Sthapna.
